Iran Tractor Manufacturing Company, as the largest and most equipped hot forging plant in the Middle East, equipped with the latest world-class machinery, has produced over 1350 different parts over the years. Now, in order to expand its product portfolio, customer base, and enter new markets for forged parts, the company has designed, manufactured, and produced horseshoes in various sizes.
The raw material used in the production of horseshoes is a soft, malleable steel, and the grades used are in accordance with ASTM and SAE standards. After being analyzed and approved in the company's laboratory, these materials are cut to the required sizes in the cutting unit. Then, in the production workshop, they are heated in induction furnaces to a temperature of approximately 1200°C to 1260°C. The production stages include bending and shaping the steel to form the horseshoe. After production, the cleaning, removal of burrs, and creation of very fine holes take place at a temperature of 1000°C to 1050°C. All production stages and the final product are tested and controlled by quality control personnel. Tests such as dimensional, hardness, analysis, and microscopic structure are among the control processes carried out by experienced personnel at workstations and in the laboratory. Additionally, the horseshoe is cooled at different speeds based on the desired hardness and the specified temperature. The cooling rate depends on the required hardness of the horseshoe
